“Lift up the door, open the gate wide” – with Christmas just around the corner, many windows are ablaze with lights, which unfortunately sometimes have to give way to financial reality. To ensure that there is something special on the table for the holidays, Tafel Deutschland is helping to provide a festive meal for families who are particularly struggling. Unfortunately, sometimes the decision has to be made between gifts and food, which is why we at the Academy of Health Berlin/Brandenburg eV have started a Christmas in a shoebox for the first time this year on the Eberswalde campus. Participants in education and teachers from the schools for midwives, speech therapy, emergency paramedics and nursing have packed 125 gift packages together, which are now being distributed to families in need by Brot und Hoffnung eV in Eberswalde. We hope that 2021 will be the last Christmas under corona conditions, and that the new year will bring happiness and health to families across the country.
