See the whole person – enable participation.
Occupational therapists support people of all ages to carry out activities of daily living and work and to participate in society. This contributes significantly to improving health and quality of life. People who, due to a disability, illness or accident, can no longer do what is important to them and what is expected of them are supported in carrying out these everyday activities as independently and autonomously as possible. To do this, occupational therapists look not only at the difficulties and strengths of their clients, but also at their environment and work with them to develop strategies to carry out the desired activities as independently as possible. Another focus is on health promotion and prevention. This is not just about looking at what people do, but also how they do something and how they structure their everyday routines as healthily and to their satisfaction as possible.
During training at the Academy of Health, participants learn how to use craft and design techniques as well as occupational therapy treatment methods and everyday activities in a targeted therapeutic manner in order to enable clients to participate as best as possible. Professional practice enables learning under real conditions and completes the training process with specific situations and tasks. Depending on the level of training, there are targeted practical phases in which you can test, consolidate and further develop the skills you have learned in your everyday professional life. You will receive expert guidance and support.
The training is recognized by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). The Academy of Health is a member of the Association of German Occupational Therapy Schools (VDES) and the German Association of Occupational Therapy (DVE)
