Radiation protection for patients and staff has the highest priority.
Medical technologists for radiology (MTR) occupy a key position in diagnostics and therapy.
They carry out radiological examinations and therapies in the following areas:
- X-ray diagnostics including cross-sectional imaging and sonography
- Teletherapy and brachytherapy
- Nuclear Medicine in Diagnostics and Therapy
- Radiation Physics / Dosimetry and Quality Management
MTRs perform responsible tasks. For example, they carry out imaging examinations using computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) and take X-rays. MTRs are involved in the detection and treatment of diseases in radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and mammography, as well as in quality control and assurance. They carry out the examinations in close contact with the patient, which requires empathy in dealing with patients of all ages, physical fitness and mental resilience. Reliability, care and manual dexterity are prerequisites when using radiation. Radiation protection for patients and staff is the highest priority in the work of MTRs, which is why expertise in radiation protection is an important part of the training. After completing your training, you will be a sought-after specialist for hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and doctor's offices in the fields of X-ray diagnostics, neuroradiology, cross-sectional imaging, radiotherapy, radiation planning and nuclear medicine, as well as in quality assurance and quality management.
