View the client holistically and individually.
A physiotherapist essentially treats people who are limited in their mobility. Physiotherapists also work in the fields of internal medicine, neurology/psychiatry, pediatrics, geriatrics and gynecology. Another focus is on prevention and health promotion. The aim here is to prevent diseases such as chronic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, lung diseases and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Physiotherapists are employed in outpatient, day-care and inpatient settings.
During your training at the Academy of Health, you will learn how to create a holistic diagnosis, evaluate and interpret it, draw up an individual treatment plan and carry out physiotherapy measures with the patient. In addition to action competence (diagnosis and treatment techniques), the focus is also on developing cognitive skills (e.g. knowledge of anatomy and physiology for functional thinking and action on the patient), communication skills (e.g. anamnesis and consultations) and personal skills (e.g. self-reflection and self-organization).
Due to the demand for skilled workers in physiotherapy of 24.000 therapists by 2030, the profession of physiotherapist is a profession with a future.
