“Transforming Education” Planning, controlling and standardizing digital transformations.

The Institute for Digital Teaching and Media, as a central academy institution for vocational and higher education, deals with the necessary digitization requirements relating to teaching and learning. It is particularly important to us to focus on self-directed learning and to offer a diverse repertoire of methods and to implement innovative educational offers for you. We want to integrate the potential of digital media into our everyday school life. For this purpose, internal training courses are offered regularly.

As an Academy of Health, we believe that an individual can only develop competence if the learning environment supports, encourages and challenges their development (Kerres 2018: 65). The basis of our work is the implementation of the core competencies of digital teaching, the 4 Cs - the ability to collaborate, communicate, think critically and be creative. We want to give you, the learners, good access to education, regardless of location. We are convinced that the correct integration of digital media can not only improve the quality of teaching, but also sustainably optimize learning outcomes.

Here you will find personal support and advice to successfully meet these new challenges. I will support you individually in preparing digital lessons. It is important to systematically integrate media competence into everyday teaching and learning, because how you learn influences the competence of the learners.

The interprofessional staff unit for digitalization regularly takes part in specialist symposiums and qualifications in digital transformation in order to keep teaching up to date. They also serve as an interface for all campuses and represent the individual needs of each school. In the process of our work, we react agilely to the requirements.
Our team at the Institute for Digital Teaching and Media is committed to enriching the educational landscape with innovative approaches and supporting teachers on their path into the digital future.

We have implemented a comprehensive online library with the latest editions of the specialist books from Thieme Verlag for every subject area. This means that hybrid teaching models are also offered regularly.

Our mission includes exploring and using the diverse potential that digital media offers in education. We also never lose sight of the future; visionary topics are already on the agenda, such as the appropriate use of artificial intelligence and the creation of an avatar and setting prompts in 6 steps. The expansion of virtual reality in teaching is also being considered.
