Knowledge test/aptitude test occupational therapy

1. Preparatory course for the knowledge test/aptitude test

The professional training in occupational therapy and thus also the preparatory course aim to promote professional competence. The curriculum and the resulting courses take this into account in formulated objectives.

The curriculum for the occupational therapy preparatory course defines the minimum requirements necessary to ensure the quality of the course.

The curriculum of the preparatory course is divided into four modules with corresponding action-oriented learning sequences.

The theoretical and practical courses of the preparatory course comprise 64 teaching units.

The dominant methods for achieving action competence are problem-oriented and self-determined learning within the framework of case discussions and practical exercises on various diagnostic methods, therapy planning and intervention approaches.

At the Academy of Health, the people being examined complete an 8-day preparatory course before their knowledge test/aptitude test. This course enables them to get to know each other and to go through all the topics relevant to the exam together. Taking the exam without a prior preparatory course is not recommended.

Dates and costs:

The next preparatory course will take place: 17.03. – 26.03.2025

Costs for the preparatory course:720€

The cost of the preparatory course includes all learning materials. Approximately 3-4 weeks before the course begins, participants will receive learning materials to prepare for the course. Being able to understand the content shown there is a prerequisite for taking part in the preparatory course and the subsequent exams. During the preparatory course, the people being examined will discuss all exam-relevant topics with the academy's teachers and practice them in practice. At the end of these 8 days, participants will be given permission to take the exam or, if necessary, be recommended to take further practice sequences. This is intended to give them a secure feeling for the upcoming exams.
