Emergency care (DKG)

Growing demands and constant changes in emergency centers present nursing staff with new challenges that must be met by developing professional action and methodological skills. The goal should be to adequately maintain or increase the quality and specialization in emergency care. The emergency nursing specialist training at the academy is committed to this goal. The Academy of Health offers excellent opportunities through simulation centers to practice the theoretical teaching content in an error-friendly learning atmosphere, under realistic scenarios by trained instructors. The practical teaching content is carried out in accordance with the curriculum in approved DKG hospitals.

Continuing education for practical instructors

The emergency care training is aimed at state-recognized

  • Nurses,
  • Health and nursing professionals,
  • Pediatric nurses,
  • Health and pediatric nurses,
  • Geriatric nurses,
  • Nursing professionals

with at least 6 months of experience in emergency care
after completing training

Registration documents

  • Professional certificate
  • Proof of 6 months of work in emergency care

  • 760 hours of theory with exercises in the modern simulation center
  • at least 1800 hours of practical experience (possible at the employer if the hospital has been recognized by the DKG for further training)

  • Cast splinting user training (with certificate)
  • Medical Taping (with certificate)
  • Radiological examination methods and cooperation

Basic module:

  • BM: Initiate and shape development in a reasoned manner

specialized modules:

  • FM I: Acting safely and responsibly in the emergency room
  • FM II: Structuring, organizing and designing processes in emergency rooms
  • FM III: Monitoring and caring for patients with acute diagnoses
  • FM IV: Care and monitoring of patients with acute trauma events
  • FM V: Caring for and accompanying patients in special emergency situations

Additional module:

  • ReaK NFP: Implementing advanced resuscitation concepts in a team (according to the American Heart Association)

  • Since 01.03.2021, the Academy of Health has been recognized by the German Hospital Association as a training center for further training in emergency care
  • After successfully completing the oral and practical examination, you will receive the qualification
