Recertification “Communication as a tool in the treatment of chronic wounds”

To ensure that knowledge remains up-to-date and the quality of the seminar qualifications is guaranteed, the certificates of the joint certification body ICW® and PersCert TÜV have been limited to five years since 2008 (the expiry date is stated on the certificate).

Since 2008, graduates with the qualifications Wound Expert ICW®, Medical Wound Expert ICW®, Specialist Wound Therapist ICW® and Nursing Therapist Wound ICW® have been required to provide annual proof of at least 8 continuing education points.

The ICW® awards continuing education points for an event based on its examination and recognition of the respective continuing education content.

For degrees earned before 2008, certificates are permanent. However, graduates with these certificates may voluntarily upgrade to a temporary, current certificate by meeting the same recertification requirements.

We generally recommend that you regularly attend training courses to stay up to date.

Content

ICW recertification events are always focused on the topic of wound care and provide participants with up-to-date and well-founded specialist knowledge.

In general, all ICW certificate holders can participate in events with recognized recertification points.

However, expectations for such events may vary depending on professional background and experience:

A newly trained wound specialist has different requirements than an experienced wound care therapist, and a medical wound specialist focuses on different topics than nursing professionals.

Attendance / Certificate of Participation

For participating in the recertification training, you will be credited with 8 continuing education points.The prerequisite for this is that you attend the entire event.At the end of the event, you will receive an individual certificate of participation showing the ICW® training points you have earned.
