Radiation protection basic course

You work in a practice with X-ray equipment and need the necessary knowledge of radiation protection in accordance with Appendix 10 of the Directive on specialist knowledge and knowledge of radiation protection when operating X-ray equipment in medicine or dentistry. The course provides you with theoretical knowledge of legal regulations, physical and biological principles, the effects of ionizing radiation and effective radiation protection measures. Through practical exercises in radiation protection, you will acquire knowledge and skills that will enable you to work with this type of imaging procedure under medical supervision.

Target group / requirements

This training is aimed at people according to § 24 paragraph 2 no. 4 of the X-ray Ordinance, personnel mentioned in section 6.3, 3rd paragraph: OTA, nursing staff, interventions, ERCP, C-arm activity. This course is required for people who only operate or switch on simple X-ray equipment on the direct instruction of the doctor who is immediately present (e.g. C-arm in the operating room).

This training takes into account the amended radiation protection legislation on the basis of Section 74 StrlSchG of June 27, 2017 and Section 49 StrSchV of November 29, 2018.
The course is recognized by the responsible authority, the State Office for Occupational Safety, Health Protection and Technical Safety Berlin –LAGetSi, and is valid nationwide.
